I can't this weekend

For my subscribers, I will soon be sharing some information on great places to view fireworks in Japan, including two places I’ve long wanted to visit and one old favorite that Hiro and I went to together in the 1990s.

For everyone else, I wanted to share news of another amazingly kind rejection letter and the ways I’ve been revising the memoir’s manuscript for my agent throughout July.

But then came word last night of an attack on a rainbow celebration in Berlin. One person dead, three with still life-threatening injuries, eight more with serious injuries, and more than twenty other people with lesser injuries. Please focus your prayers on those affected and their families.

As for me, I’m turning a cynical eye at the rapid conclusion that a so-called “Islamist,” a reactionary Muslim, was responsible, with a suspect the police murdered before any true investigation could be conducted. The KKK and the Proud Boys comprise majority Christian members, yet we don’t brand those domestic terrorists as “Christianists,” do we?
